Located in the east of Zhejiang Province and the southern corner of the Yangtze River Delta region, Ningbo has been one of China’s most important seaports since ancient times. It is one of China's oldest cities, with a history dating back to the Hemudu Culture in 4800 BC. Today, the Ningbo Zhoushan Port handles some of the world’s largest cargo throughput each year.
